DIY Craft Display {But Wait! There’s More!}
Just so you know…organizing your own craft show takes up a lot of time! Even if you have the best partner in crime/co-coordinator you could hope for. For real. I promised another craft show display for you, and I am finally delivering! All my pendants are facing front and center! Here’s how we made this. Oh, make no mistake, this was a HHH project. (Husband Heavily Helped) We purchased this floor sample from our local Recycle shop for a buck. The lines are to mark where th

DIY Craft Show Pendant Display
Question. What do you get when you have a scotch bottle and an old lampshade? Sure, that answer might be obvious to the party animals that make up my readership, but I had another thought… Here’s where I must give credit to the genius who had the original lampshade-as-pendant-display idea...Lisa at The Empty Nest on Etsy. I will confess…this was one of the hardest items I’ve ever had to photograph! I glued the flower pot saucer to the bottle with Gorilla Glue. My husband sc

A craft table display and a Hello!
Hello first…hello! With my very first craft show only hours away, I thought I’d touch base. What an exciting couple of weeks it has been. I can’t believe that the show is tomorrow, and I am so ready to get in there and have a great time. It was fun figuring out different displays, and I thought I’d show you a picture of one of mine. This three tiered wire thing usually holds large stamps and punches in my craft room. I grabbed some clothespins and stained them black so the

My Batty Pendant
One of my new favorite things to do, is take an image from The Graphics Fairy, download it to my Silhouette, and tweak it for a project. I know it’s only a week away, but I thought I’d make a new Halloween pendant. Plus, I am feeling a little batty these days… This was one of those projects. You know… where I get the idea and put it together without taking any pictures of the process. I started with a piece of Stampbord and covered it with silver Rub n Buff. I downloaded th

Ombre Bracelet–Shades of gray
Ombre. I love it. You love it. Well, I am hoping you love it. I’m certainly doing enough projects with it! The lovely people at DIYBangles sent me a few bangles to make my own. I’ve been having a blast with them. Being that I’m on this ombre kick and I love the colors gray and black, I made this… I am completely addicted to Martha Stewart’s Mother of Pearl paint. I painted the top layer in that color, and I love the effect. When the paint was dry, I gave it a coat of Hard

Project for Brag Monday and some news
I’ve been kicking this around for a while and I finally decided to take the plunge. I’m participating in my very first craft show in early November! As you can imagine, I have been busy making all sorts of pretty things to display, and figuring out how to display them. There is a wealth of information on the Internet, which is a good thing. I’ve even created a board on Pinterest for inspiration. I saw some very cute little jewelry price tags for sale, but thought I’d put R

Ombre Obsessed?
Perhaps. I can’t say it like it’s a bad thing though. This just happens to be one of those trends that I dream about. Nothing wrong with that…I think. I have this thing where I like to wear something that I love. As in, “how can I make this (insert object) wearable?” This is a wood oval that I painted, and then sealed with Mod Podge. When it was dry, I brushed on a two part resin for some high voltage shine. This one is an acrylic square…hey those colors look familiar!

Typography Bangle
Do you want to hear a story? A couple of weeks ago, a company called DIY Bangles contacted me after seeing my Dictionary Page Wreath. They really liked it, and asked me if they could send me some wreath forms, and wooden bangles to play around with. After thinking about it for a full two seconds, I replied yes. (I think it was more of a hell YES, now that I consider it). I received my generous package (thanks again!), and have been playing ever since. I couldn’t resist the

Smallest.Subway.Art.Ever.
I have been trying like madness to get some pretties into my Etsy shop. I just had to show you these new pendants that I made. I told you that I am addicted to Subway Art! No joke! This is painted Stampbord, and white vinyl lettering. The smallest lettering ever…I think. Maybe. The one on the left I kept white and did the lettering in black. The possibilities are endless, don’t you think? Whatcha Workin’ On Wednesday at It’s Toile Good Crafty Soiree at Yesterday On Tuesday

Wrapping up my jewelry
Yesterday, I showed you my earring and necklace set. I made it for a customer (yay!), and I am bringing them to her tomorrow. I love presenting an order like a gift. I want to make my customers and friends feel very special, even if it’s a gift they are purchasing for someone else. I think it also has to do with my love of all things paper! So this is a little strange, because I have two after pictures. Here’s number one… Tags are such a favorite thing of mine, and I have

I am really here…really.
Really I am. I’ve been organizing my craft disaster space, and various closets in my house, so I haven’t been creating as much as usual. I did make a matching necklace for an existing pair of earrings in my Etsy shop, and I love it so I thought I’d share it with you. I am loving that it’s match-y, without being over-the-top match-y match-y. Are you picking up what I’m putting down? I think it’s the black leather that breaks it up a bit. So that’s my story…and I’m sticking to

The key to my sanity {Key Pendant}
Do you ever get asked “Where do you find the time to do all this…stuff?” Fact is…I don’t have a good answer. It’s just something I do. It’s something I have to do. Ideas come to me out of nowhere, and from everywhere. I have to do something about them! If you have reading along with me at all, you know I love making little pendants from Stampbord. I use scrapbook paper and washi tape, stamps and ink, etc. This next one I made is one of my new favorites. There is nothing

Fun with polymer clay
I used to play around with polymer clay many years ago. Since then, I’ve gotten side tracked with so many other things. A few months ago, I used a coupon at Joann’s and picked up a Sculpey starter kit with a bunch of different colors. More recently, I saw that FIMO came out with some new variations like transparent, and metallic. I grabbed a couple because they were on sale. So this is the result of me just messing around with the clay. The pendant part is made from the whit

Patchwork pendant with origami paper
I love blogging. Have I ever mentioned that before? Maybe three or four times, right? One of the reasons is, because of this phenomenal community of bloggers, the latest and greatest news gets shared. Through my friends, Jenn at Rook No.17, and Carol at The Answer is Chocolate, I found out about WholePort’s Creativity Expo. All I did was request one of the free choices of a crafting supply sample. My choice was some fantastic origami paper. All I had to do, was a make a

Tin pail turned earring storage
My daughter thinks I’m pretty crazy and/or awesome. Why? Because I can throw together a pair of earrings in the morning before I run off to work. That, and because she can grab a pair as well. She claims to be my “marketing representative.” Clever Dolly… Sounds wonderful, right? It is, except I’ve been misplacing them. Not wonderful, but what to do? I was walking through my room and a little pail caught my eye… It didn’t look like this yet! I recall polka dots on a r

Global warming baby!
Hi friends! Global warming, indeed. It’s been snowing here since yesterday–so much for that. I have a new pendant to share with you. This one was quick (and fun), from inspiration to conclusion. I think it’s also one of my new favorites. I found this globe from The Graphics Fairy. I printed it out very small–contact sheet size, onto white card stock. I pressed over the image with my clear embossing glue pad, and covered it with clear embossing powder. After heat settin

What is love?
Howard Jones anyone? Hmm… I just did a great job dating myself with that reference. I will tell you that I love this project I’m going to share today. Since this upcoming holiday is all about the heart, I made one of my own. I started with these two wooden pieces… They measure about two inches in length. When they are glued together in a particular way… Pitter patter. Inspiration struck me as I was looking through my hoard prized collection of papers. I found a doubled

Charmed, I’m sure
It’s probably a good thing that you can’t see me right now. I’m doing the ridiculously-happy-it’s-Friday dance. Anyone care to join me? It’s not pretty, but it’s fun! I have been enjoying these necklaces I made so much, I thought I’d try my hand at a bracelet. I love the combination of the suede and the chain together. I found some beads that could accommodate both, because I like them linked. And yes–the suede is dark brown! Can you believe that? Don’t worry, I’m making

ICTMTM Syndrome* strikes again!
I’ve seen necklaces like this all over the place, and I love them. I was dying to make one, and I’m thrilled with the end result. Let me know what you think! Have you seen the different chains you can purchase at the craft stores? They rock! I made this one long, it measures thirty inches all the way around. The pendants are fixed at the very center of the necklace with jump rings. I used beads from my stash, and threaded them onto headpins. I love those square clear bea
