A Baby Girl Card…. and wait it’s baseball season again?

It sneaks up on me every single year.  Maybe it’s because my husband does such a great job remembering the spikes and pants and special socks (thanks!), that I just forget about it.

All of the sudden, it’s that time again, and we’re up at the fields hearing that “tink” sound.

The shows go on though.  I have one coming up in May, and more after that. In the midst of procrastinating  preparing, I had the opportunity to make a card for a little girl in my class who just became a big sister for the first time.

This baby pram image is from The Graphics Fairy.  The pink and orange colors are so perfect for a baby girl.

I printed the image onto vellum paper which is very smooth.  Printer ink will smear, so I had my clear embossing powder and heat gun at the ready.  Yes, that is my keyboard.  Yes, my shift key is melted a little bit.  Thanks for asking.

When the paper came out of the printer, I quickly shook the clear embossing powder over it.  I put the excess back into the container, and held the heat gun underneath to melt the powder, but not blow it off the paper.

I was left with a lovely embossed image to make my card with.  I added some off white card stock, sweet tiny pink buttons and a little “welcome” that I sketched using my Silhouette.

I stamped this onto the back with a pretty chalk ink for the final touch.

Thanks for joining me on my break!
