My head is spinning with the Halloween and Fall inspirations all over the blog world. I am more motivated than ever before to put together some things for my own house. And yes, I would say that’s a good thing!
I have admired the jars that have scary labels on them, and since I love re purposing glass jars already, I had to give it a try. Karen from The Graphics Fairy has some terrific labels, and I printed them immediately.
For the glass jar, I used my StazOn ink (in black) and a paintbrush to swirl inside my glass. I was going for a creepy smokey look. What do you think?
I cut out the label and inked the edges. I crumpled it up a few times to make it look worn. I used Mod Podge to put it on the jar.
I had some black leather-like cord, so I braided and tied it around the top of the jar.
I knew that I had some spring flowers in my basement, and I got inspired! I took them outside and spray painted them with oil rubbed bronze paint. Spring colors were not going to cut it for this vase. I wonder if my neighbors thought I had lost it? Hmmm…
At first I thought I would paint the flowers again, but I really love how you can see some of the original colors coming through.
I know I said I’m not a big fan of Halloween, but I’m truly enjoying these seasonal projects.
Like a puff of smoke I’m gone….to link up at these great places…
