Have you ever gone into a room in your house looking for something specific, and you end up finding something completely unrelated that inspires you? I know, all the time! I was looking for staples for the staple gun, and came across this wooden memory game. I grabbed it and brought it to my “I will do something cool with this” pile. (Never found the staples…)
I had printed out some images from The Graphics Fairy, and went through them. I found these ornate pictures, which happened to fit perfectly on these wood squares.
First I painted them with a couple of coats of Distress crackle paint (old paper). I inked the edges of the frames with StazOn in timber brown and glued them with Mod Podge.
I just added some seed beads, an antique key, and some Distress Stickles. (Have I confessed yet about my love for Tim Holtz?)
I tried to get close ups of them to show you the crackle effect of that paint. It’s good stuff! Dolly wants to hang it on her door…I’ll think about it!
I never met a link I didn’t like!
