Monogrammed Birthday Card
Earlier this week I shared my gift of breakfast. Today, I wanted to show the birthday card that went with it.
Oooh glitter! I haven’t used glitter since the “big guy” was coming to town. So yes, it’s been a while. If you’ve been coming here to visit for any amount of time (thank you!), you might recall that I love playing mad scientist with my different adhesives.
I knew I wanted to cover the “D” in glitter, but it occurred to me that I could make things easier than the basic three step plan…
step one. Mod Podge the letter
step two. Sprinkle glitter over entire letter and shake off excess
step three. Wait until it dries, and cover with Dimensional Magic
I said to myself, “Self, what if you put the dimensional magic on first?” Then Dolly asked me who I was talking to. Hey, sometimes I’m the only one who will listen, you know? I knew you would.
I was concerned that perhaps the “magic” would seep through the chip board, but no worries.
I sprinkled the glitter, and left it alone to dry. I know– it’s true, I actually didn’t mess with it. Even Dolly was a little impressed.
After it dried, I used glue dots to stick it to the front of the card.
This went inside the card…got to love a simple scallop punch. And of course the coordinating back…
It doesn’t take much to carry through a theme all the way around a card. I hope my little “magic” discovery saves you a bit of time…
