Sew appealing
I have to say that it’s been one of those weekends. You know, the kind that is a bit stressful and yet a bit more annoying? I finally made myself go over to my craft space and start a project just to try to get away from it all.
I knew I wanted to do something with an image I had from The Graphics Fairy, so I looked through my stockpile of “future fabulous” recyclables and pulled out this little game tin.

So, a couple of things…First I’m a bad blogger and roughed up the top before I took the true “before” picture. Second, we’re all friends now, correct? So I know you’re all good with me taking a picture of my messy worktable, right? Whew, thanks!
I used Folkart Outdoor Opaque acrylic paint in cobalt, because I wanted a paint that was meant for metal. I mixed it with a pearlizing medium for some subtle shimmer. Did you know that watching paint dry is…well, like watching paint dry! To stop myself from further messing with the first coat of paint, I caught up on some blog reading. You are all so crafty!
I used a dress form image that I printed on white card stock, and then carefully cut it out. I used Mod Podge to glue it down, and then went shopping through my embellishments. I used a border from my Melody Ross stash, and I even used some of the little pieces that come away from the border.

In the lower right hand corner, I used Texture Magic dimensional paint (bungalow blue) and a stencil. That paint is another one of my favorite things. I added tiny pearls, and Stickles for more detail. I love this for a little sewing kit, don’t you think?
