Tasting Spoon Turned Ring Holder

I have a question for you.  Have you ever gone into a store and seen something, and for some inexplicable reason, you suddenly need that something like your life depended on it?

Yeah, me too.  For me, it could be anything from a dynamite bag to a craft item I’ve been scoping out online.  I know, don’t fall over from the shock please.

The item that fell into that category for me recently, was this cute, sweet, adorable, tasting spoon I saw.  From one of these, I made this…

So, let me tell you the story behind this cutie.  As I told you, I’ve been having fun with my scraps of finger paint paper and alcohol ink.  I had some teeny flowers already punched out, and ready for some new pendants.  I had already mixed up some two part resin to finish off said pendants, and I had some leftover.

I hate when that happens.  I thought fast, and grabbed one of these spoons and Mod Podged the flowers into it.  I waved the spoon around madly trying to dry it (oh, that’s why Dolly was looking at me like that) as quickly as possible.

When it was dry (enough), I poured the rest of my resin over the flowers and spread it out with a plastic spatula.

I made sure there weren’t any bubbles and let it cure till the morning.  Rings, (or any other bauble) fit in there perfectly, and it’s great by the sink, because the resin is pretty waterproof.

Awww, look at her, isn’t she sweet?  What do you think?
