Use what you have…Do we have a choice?
…Lately I don’t. I’m really okay with that. I feel like I’m weeding out some supplies, and I’m finding that I’m less worried about trying something new. If it doesn’t work out, so what? No. Big. Deal.
So, this is what I started with. I kid you not, I bought this so long ago, I don’t recall where I got it! I know that I hadn’t done anything with it because the little wooden dowel that lets the mirror hinge open and closed was a little wonky (technical term).
I re-discovered it recently, worked out the “wonk”, dusted it (yes, it’s been that long), and gave it a light sanding. I mixed up a spring green acrylic paint with a little black, and painted it.
I took an old nail file and distressed the edges, Mod Podged a piece of scrapbook paper on the top of the lid, and under it. I inked a tiled stamp with timber brown Staz On and randomly stamped over the whole box.
On the front of the drawer, I used the same stamp, and an embossing stamp pad and applied UTEE , and heat set it. It gave it a cool raised affect. I covered it all with my One Step Crackle.
I really like it, but I have no idea what to do with it. What do you think?
You know me, I love to “link up!”
